In Memory of Rudolf Bikkers
1943 – 2023
We are saddened to learn of the recent passing of respected Canadian artist, Rudolf Bikkers.
Born and raised in The Netherlands, Rudolf immigrated to Canada in 1966 and settled in London where his teaching career began at H.B. Beal High School and then to Fanshawe College as Chair of Printmaking. While in London, he founded Editions Canada where he produced print editions for local, national and international artists. In 1983, he moved to the Ontario College of Art (now OCADU) and became its Chair of the Print Department until his retirement in 2012.
The McIntosh Gallery Collection’s extensive holdings of his work span six decades in various print media, drawing, and painting including a commissioned portrait for the Board of Governors.
