'Humble and Rising' Exhibit

Exhibition reception: Saturday, Sept 7th, 2019 from 12:00 to 4:00p.m. An exhibition reception for Humble and Rising will feature performances of spoken word, drumming, singing and dancing. Traditional food will be served. This event is free and open to the public.
This exhibition shares the creative work of the participants of the Positive Voice program at Nokee Kwe, who are challenging the portrayal of urban Indigenous women and sharing stories of strength resilience, and accomplishment. The exhibit includes photography, stories, digital art and bead work. McIntosh Gallery is pleased to partner with +Positive Voice to assist in the installation of their seasonal exhibitions.

+Positive Voice is an innovative pilot program that supports the development of +positive narratives and +positive community connections by urban Aboriginal women, 18 years and older, who are experiencing a transition to employment or education.
