Western's 154-hectare park-like grounds feature outdoor sculptures from the McIntosh Collection by Canadian artists including Tom Benner, Doug Mitchell, Reinhard Reitzenstein, Miho Sawada, Bill Vazan and Ed Zelenak.
Artshare puts around 800 works of art from the McIntosh Gallery's collection into public areas and offices throughout Western's campus.
Started in 1991 by the late Dave Falls, the Artshare program has grown to show the importance of art in everyday surrounding. Displaying the artwork into personal spaces across campus not only has aesthetic benefits, but also reminds staff and faculty of the valuable role the gallery has at Western.
Staff and faculty participate in choosing works of art and locations for their display. Participating departments, faculty and staff pay a small annual fee for each work installed through Artshare. New works are available throughout the year.
